Reported governance data

Updated: Oct 7
Check which people, date and table a governance count describes before interpreting it. This collection contains 105 reported observations from 27 Indian issuers. Its selected scope is: 45 Board-size counts, 44 female-Board-member counts, 8 Audit Committee membership counts and 8 Audit Committee meeting counts. It does not measure governance quality, Board independence, committee effectiveness, ethics outcomes or legal compliance.
Edition: 0.6.0-sample1661. Hub review: 6 October 2026. Selected metric periods run from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2026, with uneven issuer, year and metric coverage. Release source retrieval and selected-row checking took place on 5–6 October 2026; row timestamps remain in the files. Original report-publication dates were not established. This is a fixed historical, source-screened sample, not a live feed, representative sample, complete issuer inventory or latest-year coverage claim.

Keep composition evidence separate from governance conclusions
Every numeric row uses the original unit number. A Board count is a snapshot or a report-year-context measure, not a sum of all directors who served at any time unless the source says so. Board members, key managerial personnel and remuneration-table populations can overlap or use different definitions. Missing a selected female-member observation does not establish a zero.
A pair of composition counts cannot establish nomination processes, impact oversight or performance evaluation. This hub keeps the issuer’s source labels without imposing a compliance test or inferring anyone’s characteristics from their name.
The 16 Audit Committee observations concern SIS Limited’s and Himadri’s issuer Board Audit Committees. Membership counts exclude invitees and are separate from everyone who served during the year; meeting counts are not summed attendances. Preserve each source’s composition date or report-year context. Financial-reporting oversight does not establish a general ESG mandate, and Himadri’s separately described Group-facing ESG Committee does not broaden these counts or standalone workforce scope.
Five teaching observations: read the footnote before the total
The unchanged five Board-count observations from edition 0.5.0-sample1040 illustrate sanctioned strength, snapshot-date limits and overlapping management populations. These three issuer examples do not cover the new Audit Committee observations and are not a representative subset or a diversity league table. The period dates identify the reporting context; they do not supply an unstated Board snapshot date.
Cochin Shipyard Limited
Standalone CSL. The selected actual Board count is explicitly for 31 March 2025. The table’s separate sanctioned-strength figure has a different meaning; the footnote controls this observation.
Reporting period: 2024-04-01 to 2025-03-31. Selected source: Cochin Shipyard Limited Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report FY2024-25.
Board consisted of 6 Directors as on March 31, 2025 (Q21 footnote)
Reported value: 6 number. Printed p03 / PDF p3.
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited
Standalone MDL. These Q21 Board figures belong to the report-year context. The table does not separately print the precise snapshot date; the period field is not proof of an independently checked director list at 31 March.
Reporting period: 2024-04-01 to 2025-03-31. Selected source: Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited Business Responsibility & Sustainability Report 2024-2025.
Board of Directors - Total (A)
Reported value: 7 number. Printed p4 / PDF p4.
Board of Directors - Female No. (B)
Reported value: 0 number. Printed p4 / PDF p4.
Sandhar Technologies Limited
Standalone Sandhar Technologies Limited. The Q21 Board population includes a person also counted in key managerial personnel. Adding those populations would double-count that overlap. Roles are as reported for this period.
Reporting period: 2024-04-01 to 2025-03-31. Selected source: Sandhar Technologies Limited Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report 2024-25.
Board of Directors - Total (A)
Reported value: 10 number. Printed p90 / PDF p3.
Board of Directors - No. of Females (B)
Reported value: 3 number. Printed p90 / PDF p3.
Two useful interpretation checks
Actual membership versus sanctioned strength: CSL’s Q21 table shows a sanctioned strength of 12, while its footnote identifies an actual Board of 6 at 31 March 2025. The accepted observation selects 6. These are different concepts, not two versions to average or interchangeable Board-size values. No additional female-member numeric row is created from narrative wording. CSL Q21 footnote, printed p03 / PDF p3.
A derived proportion with a declared denominator: for Sandhar’s selected Q21 figures, 3 female Board members ÷ 10 Board members × 100 = 30%. This is a reproducible derived proportion of that table’s population, not another reported observation, a current Board claim or a measure of effectiveness. Keep the two stable source observation IDs with the calculation. Its Board and KMP counts overlap, so they must not be added. Sandhar Q21, printed p90 / PDF p3.
Use the count to frame the next question
Write down whether the source means actual membership, sanctioned capacity, people serving during the year, or another population.
Record the stated snapshot date. If the table supplies only report-year context, preserve that limit rather than infer a precise date.
Keep the denominator population consistent when calculating a proportion. Do not substitute the workforce, KMP or remuneration population.
For a due-diligence question, request the relevant governance process and implementation evidence separately. A raw composition count cannot establish oversight quality or an applicable legal conclusion.
Download and use the collection
The 0.6.0-sample1661 complete edition ZIP contains D007-governance.csv and D007-governance.json, each with the same 105 reported observations. Extract the format you prefer. The page provides selected teaching cards; it does not provide an on-page search or filtering tool. CSV and JSON are two formats of the same records.
Use the source, coverage, metric, period, history and qualification files inside this ZIP for the expanded collection. Retain mandatory-qualifications, record-qualifications and source-provenance-availability with any subset; shorter source-scope summaries do not replace the full conditions.
Previous-edition example support: the seven links below remain bound to 0.5.0-sample1040, which supports the unchanged teaching examples. Use the current-edition ZIP above for the expanded collection and its supporting files.
Open D007-governance.csv in a spreadsheet with UTF-8 import. Keep reported_value as text if the original decimal precision matters.
Filter company_id, period_start, period_end, metric_id and original_unit. Keep observation_id with every subset.
Read boundary, method, denominator_if_relevant, footnote_context and comparability_caveat before using the value. Follow source_id, source_url and the printed/PDF locator to the report.
Retain version, source_history_status and the supporting dictionaries. The archive contains data-schema.json, metric-definition-variants.json and the history schema. None of this collection’s 105 observations has a structured original/later-source pair in the reviewed history inputs. A missing structured history pair does not mean that a value is unrevised.
Attribution, missing information and maintenance
The numeric file includes explicitly reported numbers. Blank metadata, dashes, Nil, NA and unavailable disclosures are not silently converted to zero. An explicit numeric zero stays zero. A source may not explain an abbreviation. In history CSV files, the token \N represents JSON null; an actual empty source cell remains empty. Histories, amendments, conversions and repeated formats add no observations.
AI-assisted preparation and separate internal source checks support transcription and interpretation. They do not independently verify company measurements, provide professional assurance or establish compliance. The issuers are not identified as Nitium clients or endorsers. No report PDFs, report graphics or third-party assurance materials are distributed. The release does not grant a blanket licence over source reports; retain attribution, exact units, locations and source-specific limits when making a subset.
This frozen edition changes only through versioned corrections or a reviewed successor. Source amendments, broken links, altered reuse conditions and material method changes trigger a review. New company reports are not incorporated automatically. The method file preserves source-specific access limits, including City Union Bank’s direct-PDF availability caveat.
Prepare your own evidence trail
Use the public ESG report directory to locate reporting boundaries and editions. The downloaded files provide historical examples; your own reporting needs its own period, scope and source records.
