Supplier and customer ESG response support
Nitium helps businesses across India organise supplier and customer ESG information for a defined request. Whether you are answering a customer or collecting information from partners, we keep the requested scope, response evidence and unresolved answers visible.

Â
When this support is useful
-
Supplier-side: a customer has sent a questionnaire and the answers sit across several teams.
-
Buyer-side: you need selected partner information and cannot tell which replies cover the requested period and boundary.
-
Reporting-side: you need to explain what a value-chain disclosure covers and where information remains incomplete.
Â
What we do
-
Clarify the request, audience, deadline and entities, sites or partner population in scope.
-
For customer responses, map questions to available records, responsible owners and points requiring approval or clarification.
-
For partner collection, prepare a proportionate data request and organise response tracking.
-
Separate receipt of a reply from the evidence supplied and its period/boundary coverage.
-
Prepare agreed response or disclosure inputs, retaining qualifications and unresolved questions for your team’s review.
Â
What you receive
-
A partner data request or question-to-evidence working map suited to the agreed task.
-
A response tracker showing owners, evidence references and unresolved clarifications.
-
A coverage summary with its defined population and limitations.
-
Draft response or disclosure inputs for the agreed reporting need, reviewed and approved by your team.
Â
What we need from your team
Share the actual questionnaire or reporting request, intended recipient and date, the partner or site list where relevant, available purchase or sales information, existing responses and the people who can approve answers. A short, non-confidential outline is sufficient for the initial enquiry; agree the secure route for records during scoping.
Â
How the work proceeds
-
Clarify: decide whether the task is answering a request, collecting partner data or preparing a selected disclosure.
-
Scope: agree the questions, partner population, evidence expectations and approval responsibility.
-
Prepare: organise data requests or answer mapping and keep clarification status separate from coverage.
-
Review and hand over: check the proposed wording with your team, retain unsupported or unavailable items and hand over the agreed tracker and draft.
Â
Example: a reply is not the same as complete evidence
Hypothetical example, not a Nitium client case. Four active supplier-topic requests cover three suppliers. Three replies arrive, so the request-row response rate is 75%. One reply reports unavailable data, one covers only part of the requested period and one has matching source evidence. The tracker preserves those differences. A 75% response rate does not mean 75% of suppliers, spending, emissions or the full value chain has been verified.
Â
Scope and responsibilities
Scope is set by the actual request and reporting purpose. A response or tracker does not guarantee a customer rating, platform score, procurement outcome or compliance conclusion. No platform-specific accreditation or specialist rating service is claimed. Your team approves information before it is supplied to customers or used in reporting; the scope must separately identify any communication or submission activity.

Frequently asked questions
Can you help when we are answering a customer, rather than collecting supplier data?
Yes. Share the customer’s request so the work can be scoped around answer mapping, supporting records, approvals and unresolved questions.
Â
Does a received reply count as verified evidence?
No. Receipt, evidence quality and period/boundary coverage are different checks. A reply can be logged while a supporting record remains missing.
Â
Should missing supplier data be treated as poor ESG performance?
A collection gap alone does not establish performance, misconduct or non-compliance. Record what is unavailable and agree a proportionate clarification or reporting treatment.
Â
Can you guarantee the customer will accept the response?
No. Acceptance and purchasing decisions belong to the customer. Our support helps organise supported answers and make limitations clear.
Â
What determines the work and timing?
The questionnaire, partner population, requested evidence, available records, approvals and deadline. Share these before agreeing the scope; no fixed turnaround is implied.

Â
What affects the scope and fee?
Â
Answering one customer questionnaire is different from collecting information across a supplier population. The work depends on the number and type of questions, entities or partners involved, evidence already available, unresolved answers and internal approvals. To discuss a quote, say whether you are answering a customer or collecting partner information, outline the request and deadline, and describe the records available. We agree the outputs and fee for that scope. Customer acceptance or a particular rating is not guaranteed.
